Theodore Gregorakis

        Theodore Gregorakis, 92, of Morganville, New Jersey, died peacefully on September 8, 2016, surrounded by his wife of 67 years, Athanasia, and his entire family. Theodore was born in Kastoria, Sparti, Greece the son of George and Panagiota Gregorakis. The sixth of seven children who lost his mother at the young age of 16.  His father was a wonderful man who taught him many lessons that he would carry with him throughout his lifetime.  When he was 28 years old Theodore married the love of his life, Athanasia, and they went on to have three wonderful sons. In January 1967, at the age of 42, he made his way to America to create a better life for his family.  In only 5 short years he opened his own restaurant and cocktail lounge (The Bleeker Restaurant) in Newark, New Jersey which he owned for more than 15 years.  He truly lived the American Dream, becoming an American Citizen as well as purchasing his own home, in Union New Jersey where he lived for 23 years. Theodore was a devoted husband and father who was adored by all who knew him. He was the best Papou anyone could ask for always taking care of his granddaughters and great grandson.  He was a passionate and hardworking man who loved everything about life and always had a smile on his face.  Σας αγαπώ Pop για πάντα.

         He is survived by his beloved wife, Athanasia Gregorakis; his devoted sons, George Gregorakis and wife, Debbie, of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, Panagioti Gregorakis and wife, Patty, of Farmingdale, New Jersey, Petros Gregorakis and wife, Kimber, of Morganville, New Jersey. He is also survived by his dear brother, Christos Gregorakis, as well as 5 cherished grandchildren, Eleni, Athanasia, Demetra, Athanasia, Christina and 1 great grandson Tyler Gregorakis. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
          
         Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday evening, September 11, 2016, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Service will be held Monday morning, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  A Makaria (Internment Meal) will follow at The Gramercy at Lakeside Manor, 410 State Route 36, Hazlet, New Jersey.
