Rosa (Cerrito) LoVerde

    Rosa LoVerde, 84, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.  She was born Rosa Cerrito on February 22, 1933 in Palermo, Italy, where she grew up.  In 1957, Rosa moved to the United States, and on October 3, 1957, she and her husband, Antonio, were married and began their lives together in Brooklyn, New York, where they also raised their family.  In 2013, they relocated to Staten Island, New York.  She was predeceased by her parents, Gaetano and Luisa (Coppola) Cerrito.  Rosa is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 60 years, Antonio LoVerde, her loving children, Catherine Pontecorvo and her husband, Julius, of Staten Island, New York, Michael LoVerde and his wife, Debra, of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, and Marisa Ziegler and her husband, Eric, of Middletown, New Jersey, and her dear brother, Nino Cerrito and his wife, Titina.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Diana Delancy and her husband, Robert, Lorena Sepsakos and her husband, George, Marissa Pontecorvo, Anthony LoVerde and his wife, Elizabeth, Michael LoVerde, Victoria Pontecorvo, Christopher LoVerde, Eric Ziegler, Nicholas Ziegler, Tianna LoVerde, and James "JT" LoVerde, along with her adored great grandchild, Grayson Delancy.  Rosa will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

    Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday morning, August 19, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10312.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Holy Child, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York 10312.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
