Robert E. Cleary

    Robert E. Cleary, 90, of Starksboro, Vermont, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Robert was born on January 17, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he grew up and raised his family with his wife, Lillian (Duffy) Cleary.  While living in Jersey City, Robert worked for Western Electric Company as a Machinist in Kearny, New Jersey; he was currently retired.  He was also a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country during World War II.   In 1990, Robert retired to Vermont, where he was currently a member of the American Legion in Bristol.

    He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Margaret (Butler) Cleary, his beloved wife, Lillian (Duffy) Cleary, and his son-in-law, Charles Weber.  Robert is survived by his loving children, Robert E. Cleary and his wife, Josephine, of Jersey City, New Jersey, Lillian Lallo and her husband, Vincent, of Bayonne, New Jersey, Karen Weber of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Keven Cleary and his wife, Kathe, of Woodbridge, New Jersey, and John Cleary and his wife, Patricia, of Keansburg, New Jersey.  He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Ann Marie, Elizabeth, Josephine, Erin, Michael, Anthony, Joseph, Tamme, Charles, Elizabeth, and John, along with his 19 adored great grandchildren.  Robert will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
