Richard Colón

    Richard Colón, 58, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Mount Sinai Hospital West in Manhattan, New York.  Richard was born on September 26, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised and began his family.  In 2002, he settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Richard was presently working as a carpenter for Local Union #157 in Manhattan, New York.  He is predeceased by his parents, Santos and Maria Colón.  Richard is survived by his loving son, Richard Torry Colón, his previous wife, Nilsa Aviles, his dear brother, Joseph Colón of Kennilworth, New Jersey, and his cherished half brother, Ed Perez of Long Island, New York, along with his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carmen Aviles and Jimmy Perez, and many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  Richard will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered during visitation hours.  In respect of his family's wishes, Richard will be privately cremated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
