Nicholas J. Angarano

June 24, 1927 ~ January 13, 2018 (age 90) 90 Years Old


Nicholas J. Angarano, 90, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island.  Nicholas was born on June 24, 1927 in Luke, Maryland, and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.  As a young man,  Nicholas proudly served our country during World War II with the United States Army.  On April 24, 1949, he and his wife, Theresa, were married and began their life together in Brooklyn, New York, where they raised their family.  In 1986, they settled in Staten Island, New York.

He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Angelina (Gramegna) Angarano.  Nicholas is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 68 years, Theresa (Leontieff) Angarano, his loving children, Andrew Angarano and his wife, Janice, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, Regina D'Arienzo and her husband, Matthew, of Staten Island, New York, and Michael Angarano and his wife, Doreen, of Woodland, California, and his dear siblings, Angelina Yorr and Joseph Angarano.  Nicholas is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Angarano and his wife, Abriana, Kristen Karasek and her husband, Daniel, Anthony Angarano, Michael Angarano, Victoria D'Arienzo, Erica Angarano, Nicole D'Arienzo, and Andrew Angarano, and his adored great granddaughter, Anna Marie Theresa Angarano.  He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at The John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10312.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 53 St. Patrick's Place, Staten Island, New York 10306.  Interment will follow at The Cemetery of the Resurrection, 361 Sharrott Avenue.
