Martha (Osterman) Edelman

     Martha Edelman, 90,  passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Care One King James in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.  She was born Martha Osterman on February 15, 1927 in New York City and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Martha spent many years in Sheepshead Bay and enjoyed trips to Fort Hamilton with her family. She spent winters in Florida soaking up the sun with friends. 

     In 2013, Martha moved to Manalapan, New Jersey, before settling in Atlantic Highlands.  She was predeceased by her parents, Simion and Mary ( Schwartz) Osterman and her beloved husband, Jack Edelman.  Martha is survived by her loving children, Gail Fishman and her husband, Fred, of Freehold, New Jersey, and Eileen Wilkos and her husband, John, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her  cherished grandchildren, Stacey Maida, Brian Maida, and Richard Fishman.  

     Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at CareOne King James for making the last year of her life so special and memorable. They would also like to thank Kindred Hospice for providing her with comfort care in her final days. She was truly loved and will surely be missed. 

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday evening, August 28, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 7:00 PM on Monday evening.  Martha will be privately interred at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, New York 11704.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kindred Hospice Foundation, 242 Old New Brunswick Rd, Piscataway, New Jersey 08854.
