Lillian Marie (Torok) Barney

       Lillian Marie Barney, 88, of Union Beach, New Jersey, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016.  She was born Lillian Marie Torok on August 18, 1928 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where she grew up.  On January 11, 1948, Lillian and her husband, Henry, were married, and began their life together in Perth Amboy, where they also raised their family.

        She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Sarvonec) Torok, her husband, Henry Thomas Barney, her children, Lisa A. Deseno and Jeffrey S. Barney, her sisters, Jeanette Gloff and Dorothy Schmidt, and her son-in-law, Charles Nelson.  

        Lillian is survived by her loving children, Mary Jane McMeekin and her husband, William, of Millville, New Jersey, Thomas H. Barney and his wife, Lois, of Florida, Debra A. Cespuglio and her husband, Ralph, of Florida, Donna M. Arvelo of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and Lillian Nelson of Union Beach, New Jersey, her daughter-in-law, Kelly Barney, her sister, Mary Ann Kerekes, and brother, John Torok, along with 15 cherished grandchildren and 18 adored great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 

        Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 401 Hall Avenue, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861.
