Leah Cardaci, 87, of Middletown, New Jersey, formerly of Neptune Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 28, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey.  She was born Lena Victoria Paladino on October 19, 1928 in Lodi, New Jersey, where she grew up.  On April 18, 1948, Lena, better known as Leah, married her husband, Anthony, and they began their life together in Lodi, where they raised their family and lived for 61 years.  In 2001, they relocated to the Villas at Jumping Brook in Neptune Township, New Jersey, and just recently settled in Middletown, New Jersey.

Leah's favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.  She absolutely loved to cook and bake, in addition to entertaining and holding family gatherings during the holidays.  She was a huge sports fan, especially for the New York Yankees and New York Giants, and you could always find her watching a game whenever her teams were playing.  Most of all, Leah's greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She had a heart of gold and her love for her family was endless.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marie Anna (Sprofera) Paladino, her dear sister, Josephine Martorano, and her grandson, Kenny Cardaci.  Leah is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 68 years, Anthony Cardaci, her loving children, Carol A. Cuccia and her husband, Charles, of Middletown, New Jersey, Patricia G. Kirk of Maywood, New Jersey, and Mark A. Cardaci and his wife, Fran, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Christopher C. Cuccia, Matthew Cuccia, Corinne Cuccia, Jeffrey Halkovich, Christian Halkovich, and Valerie Cardaci, her adored great grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, and Roman Anthony, and her niece, Karen Cohen, and her family, and Anthony Martorano, and his family, along with many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Leah's wishes, she will be privately cremated and laid to rest at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown, New Jersey.  For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
