Jean E. (Walz) Kahane

       Jean E. Kahane, 80, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Jean Walz on March 24, 1936 in Staten Island, New York. On October 15, 1971, Jean married the love of her life, Stanley Kahane. In 1989, Jean and Stanley relocated to Cheesequake Village in Matawan, New Jersey.

        She was predeceased by her parents, Julius and Antoinette (Citrone) Walz. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Stanley Kahane, her dear brother, Gerald Walz of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, her loving children, Joseph Iannuzzelli of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, Doreen Holder and her husband, Jeffrey, of Hazlet, New Jersey, and her cherished grandchildren, Amanda and Courtney Holder (who would refer to Jean as their "Grandma Hottan").  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

      Jean Kahane worked many years as a Real Estate Manager for Parkview at Madison and Matawan Terrace Apartments for Robert Goldberg Realty.  After she retired, Jean enjoyed boating life with Stanley at the Molly Pitcher Inn Marina where she loved to crab and was known by all as "Hottan" or the "Governor". From October to May, Jean would go to their home in Sebastian, Florida where she enjoyed golfing and walking the development at Park Place with treats in her pocket for any dog that might have crossed her path. Many neighbors knew her as the "dog sitter."

        Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Jean's wishes, she will be privately cremated.
