March 8, 1974 ~ August 4, 2017 (age 43) 43 Years OldEvan Louis Cohen, 43, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Evan was born on March 8, 1974 in Boonton, New Jersey. He grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and was graduate of Middletown High School South, Class of 1992. During his adulthood, Evan moved to Arizona for a period of time, before returning to New Jersey, where he settled in Middletown in approximately 2008. Evan loved all things "sports", but was especially an avid football, hockey, and wrestling fan. While living in Arizona, Evan's love for sports intertwined with his career, where he was the host of a sports talk radio show. He was also a great writer with a very quick wit; he had a funny, lighthearted personality and was known for his dry sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen (Campbell) Cohen. Evan is survived by his beloved father, Louis Cohen, his loving step-mother, Karen Cohen, and his dear siblings, Beth Ann Johannesen and her husband, Thomas, of Arizona, Tricia Quardt and her husband, Doug, of Leonardo, Michele VanRiper and her husband, Steve, of Belford, and Christina Sekora and her husband, Christopher of Somerdale. Evan is also survived by his adoring uncle, Anthony Martorano and his wife, Dawn, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during Tuesday's visitation hours. In respect of his family's wishes, Evan will be privately cremated.
