Eleanor (Franco) Tomei

        Eleanor Franco Tomei, 90, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Matawan, New Jersey. She was born Eleanor Franco on July 5, 1925 in Bronx, New York. She grew up in the Bronx, New York, and also lived in Riverdale, New York before settling in the Aberdeen and Matawan areas of New Jersey in 1963. While living in New York, Eleanor worked on Wall Street for the banking company, Merrill Lynch. Once she moved to New Jersey, Eleanor worked as a waitress at the Red Oak Diner in Hazlet, New Jersey.

        She was predeceased by her parents, Liborio and Benedetta Marie (Oieni) Franco, along with her beloved husband, Albert Tomei. Eleanor is survived by her loving sons, Richard Douglas Tomei of Keyport, New Jersey and Steven Robert Tomei of Matawan, New Jersey; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Tomei and Katy Hernandez; along with her adored great grandchildren, Parker Tomei. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
