Eleanor (Pompeo) Ciccio

       Eleanor Ciccio, 83, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey.  She was born Eleanor Pompeo on April 15, 1933 in Queens, New York. She grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, and in 1954, moved back to Queens, New York. On June 6, 1954, Eleanor and her husband, Salvatore, were married and began their lives together. In 1968, Eleanor and Salvatore settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Before retiring, she worked as an administrative assistant.  

       She was predeceased by her parents, Nestor and Anna (Fabio) Pompeo. Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Salvatore Ciccio, her loving children, Marie Varlese and her husband, Fred, of Hazlet, New Jersey, Peter Ciccio of Clermont, Florida, John Ciccio and his wife, Lisa, of Manchester, New Jersey, her dear brother, Patrick Pompeo and his wife, Carol, her cherished grandchildren, Denise Manning and her husband, Mark, Michelle Ciccio, John Ciccio Jr., Anthony Varlese, Joseph Varlese, Kaila Ciccio, Gina Ciccio, and Jason Ciccio.  She is also survived by her adored great grandchildren, Tyler Ciccio, Hailey Garlock, and Brayden Lunsford. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

        Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Friday morning, September 9, 2016 from 9:00 to 9:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, September 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735. Interment will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Route 1 and Route 35, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
