Eileen M. Donovan

Eileen M. Donovan, 87, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.  Eileen was born on February 2, 1930 in Staten Island, New York, where she grew up and lived for the majority of her life.  In 1988, she moved to Holmdel, New Jersey, where she has been living with her loving niece, Kathleen Purazzo, and her family.  Before retirement, Eileen worked as a Legal Secretary for Cahill Gordon law firm in Manhattan, New York, and was also an Elementary School teacher for many years.  She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Delia (Scully) Donovan, her dear sisters, Martha Donovan and Marguerite "Bunty" Delmar, and her cherished great nephew, James McMahon.  Eileen is survived by her loving sister, Kathleen Marr, her beloved nieces, Kathleen Purazzo and her husband, Michael, Patricia Reilly and her husband, Michael, Eileen McMahon and her husband, James, and Christina Keenan and her husband, Raymond, her cherished great nieces and nephew, Michele Card, Michael Purazzo, Laura Chestman, Michael Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Raymond Keenan, and Catherine Keenan, along with 11 adored great-great nieces and nephews.  Eileen will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10310.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
