Edward C. Baksa

Edward C. Baksa, 97, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Edward was born on February 3, 1920 in Charleston, South Carolina, where he spent the first few years of his life.  As a child, he and his family moved to Newark, New Jersey, before moving to Woodridge, New Jersey, where he grew up. After marriage, Edward and his wife, Muriel, began their lives together in Rutherford, New Jersey, and shortly after they moved to Belford.  In 1962, he and his family settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Before retirement, Edward worked as a Commercial Artist/ Technical Illustrator for Atlantic Design in Newark, New Jersey for many years. Edward was also a veteran of the US Coast Guard,  where he proudly served our country during World War II.  In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Past Grand Knight in East Keansburg, and was also a communicant of St. Benedict Church in Holmdel for many years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward B. and Bessie Lucille (Thornley) Baksa, his devoted wife, Muriel V. (Knapp) Baksa, his loving son, Thomas R. Baksa, his dear siblings, Alice Benolkin and Carl Baksa, and his adored son-in-law, Mark Alexander.  Edward is survived by his loving children, Edward G. Baksa and his wife, Patricia of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Virginia M. Baksa and her husband, Richard Plambeck of Lafayette, Colorado, and Nancy Lucille Alexander of Rising Sun, Maryland. Edward is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Susan Baksa of Crestview, Florida, along with 8 cherished grandchildren, 9 adored great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.  He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church,165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. All who would like to attend are asked to meet directly at the church on Thursday morning.  In respect to Edward's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
