Diane F. (Romanowski) Gelato

           Diane F. Gelato, 68, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Brighton Gardens in Middletown.  She was born Diane F. Romanowski on February 23, 1948 in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in the Union Beach and Hazlet area.  On June 20, 1973, Diane and her husband, Patrick, were married and began their life together in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they also raised their family.  While living in the Bayshore area, Diane worked as a hairdresser for over 35 years.  She was currently retired.  She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Bernice (Vogl) Romanowski, her beloved husband, Patrick Gelato, and her sister-in-law, Susan Romanowski.  Diane is survived by her loving children, Farra Gelato Rosko and her husband, George Jr., of Jackson, New Jersey, and Anthony Gelato and his wife, Keri, of Hazlet, New Jersey; her dear brother, Gary Romanowski; and her cherished grandchildren, Mattea Rosko, Julianna Gelato, Sophia Gelato, George "Trey" Rosko III, Madeline Gelato, Natalia Rosko, and one more grandchild on the way.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

           Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday morning, May 4, 2016 from 7:45 to 8:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, May 4, 2016 at 9:15 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734.  In respect of Diane's wishes, she will be privately cremated.  For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
