Carmella M. Monacelli

     Carmella M. Monacelli, 93, of Little Egg Harbor, formerly of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Seacrest Village in Little Egg Harbor.  She was born Carmella M. Totaro on December 13, 1923 in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she was raised.  On October 21, 1945, Carmella and her husband, Benny, were married and began their lives in Hoboken.  In 1953, they moved to Union Beach, New Jersey to raise their family and in 1992, settled in Keyport, New Jersey.  While living in Union Beach, Carmella worked on the assembly line for Charles of the Ritz, a cosmetic company located in Holmdel, New Jersey.

     She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Michelina (Iappica) Totaro, her beloved husband, Benny F. Monacelli, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Turso.  Carmella is survived by her loving daughters, Jean Obert and her husband, Richard, of Hobe Sound, Florida, and Michele Vigil and her husband, Clyde, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and her dear sisters, Jenny Turso and Fay Johnson.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jason Groome and his wife, Danielle, Nicole Blackburn and her husband, Scott, Rich Obert and his fiancé, Lauren, and Michael Obert and his wife, Charlotte, along with her adored great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Kaitlyn, Jason, Owen, Olivia, Chris, and Ryan, and her special great-great grandson, Kai.  Carmella will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Carmella to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, would be greatly appreciated. For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
